In 1991, as part of the Global 500 Roll of Honour, you honored the the metal producer Hoogovens Aluminium for outstanding achievements in environment and nature wildlife conservation together with the United Nations. This land is now threatened by plans to turn it into an industrial park. We are writing to you as a group of people advocating for the preservation of this land as the wildlife and nature preserve you declared it to be.
Given the climate crisis and its catastrophic consequences, preserving the carbon sinks that natural habitats provide is vital. In times where our planet uses one species every ten minutes, we also need to preserve the biodiversity of plants and wildlife.
This is why we, as citizens, advocate for the preservation of this biotope. We also believe that social authorities and institutions, who want to ensure the health of our planet, should join us in this effort to prioritize the diverse benefits of nature over short-term profits and economic growth.
If nothing changes, a logistics hub of 18 hectares will shortly be built on the land of Hoogovens successor company Trimet Aluminium. This will unfortunately lead to the almost complete destruction of the nature and biodiversity that you and the UN honored in 1991.
We kindly ask you to help us in our efforts to rescue the nature preserve by sending a supportive answer to us.

Wenn sich nichts ändert, entsteht auf dem Grundstück von Hoogovens Nachfolgeunternehmen Trimet Aluminium in Kürze ein Logistik-Hub von 18 Hektar. Dies wird leider zur fast vollständigen Zerstörung der Natur und der biologischen Vielfalt führen, die Sie und die Vereinten Nationen 1991 geehrt haben.
